Terms for using Moodboard Lab
These terms apply when you create an account, buy credits, subscribe, or use Moodboard Lab. Please read them before purchasing.
Effective 25 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-25
1. Who we are
Moodboard Lab is operated by Jonathan Bassindale trading as Moodboard Lab, a sole trader established in England, based in Bristol, United Kingdom. Email: jonathan@moodboard-lab.com.
We are not currently registered for VAT. The prices shown at checkout are the total prices payable in pounds sterling and no VAT is charged. Paid purchases are available to customers in most countries, but not to consumers or businesses resident or established in the European Union, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein. You will be asked to give the country of your billing address before checkout. If you are billed outside the United Kingdom, your card issuer may apply a currency conversion charge, and you are responsible for any import or consumption tax due in your own country.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract to create a purchasing account.
- You must provide accurate account and billing information and keep your sign-in details secure.
- You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by our failure.
- Accounts and credits are personal to the account holder and may not be sold or transferred.
- If you buy for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. Consumer protections continue to apply where you are legally acting as a consumer.
3. The service and AI-generated results
Moodboard Lab provides AI-assisted moodboards, material visualisations, renders, specifications and related design tools. AI results are probabilistic: they may be inaccurate, incomplete, visually inconsistent or similar to material generated for another user. A result is not guaranteed to meet a particular design, planning, accessibility, safety or technical requirement.
Material specifications, sustainability information, quantities and generated visuals are decision-support information only. You must independently check critical information with the relevant manufacturer and a suitably qualified professional before specifying, purchasing, constructing or advising a client.
4. Credits and one-off purchases
- Starter is 25 credits for £5; Standard is 50 credits for £10; Pro Pack is 150 credits for £25.
- The credit cost of an action is displayed before you confirm it. We may change future credit costs.
- Free credits are used first, refresh monthly and do not roll over.
- Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains open, but have no cash value.
- A credit is normally used once processing begins, even if you do not like or use the result. If a verified technical failure prevents us providing a usable result, contact us so we can investigate and, where appropriate, restore the affected credit.
- We may remove credits associated with a reversed, refunded, fraudulent or successfully charged-back payment.
5. Pro subscription
Pro costs £20 per month and adds 150 credits after each successful monthly payment. Your first payment is taken when you subscribe. The subscription then renews automatically each month using your saved payment method until cancelled.
You can cancel through Manage Subscription in Moodboard Lab. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, so access continues until then. Credits already added remain available while your account stays open. We do not charge a separate cancellation fee.
If payment fails, Stripe may retry it and we may suspend subscription benefits until payment succeeds. Before changing the subscription price or materially reducing the plan, we will give reasonable advance notice and explain how to cancel.
6. Consumer cancellation rights
If you are a consumer, you have 14 days from entering into the contract to cancel without giving a reason. We give this right to every consumer who buys from us, wherever you live. It sits alongside, and does not replace, any stronger protection you have under the law of your own country. At checkout, you may expressly ask us to begin supplying the service and make credits available immediately rather than waiting until the cancellation period ends.
If you cancel during the 14-day period after asking us to begin immediately, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service already supplied before cancellation. Your cancellation right may end once a service has been fully performed where the legal requirements for that result have been met. These rules do not affect your rights where a service is faulty, misdescribed or not provided with reasonable care and skill.
To cancel, email jonathan@moodboard-lab.com with a clear statement before the deadline. You may use the model form in section 16, but you do not have to. We will refund any amount due using the original payment method and within the period required by law.
7. Refunds and billing problems
Except where required by law or expressly stated in these terms, we do not offer voluntary refunds for unused credits or partly used billing periods. This does not restrict statutory rights. Contact us promptly about duplicate or incorrect charges, credits not delivered after a successful payment, or a service that does not conform to the contract.
8. Closing or suspending an account
You may ask us to close your account by email. Once we process the request, access ends immediately and unused free, purchased and subscription credits are cancelled without a voluntary refund. We will warn you of this consequence and ask you to confirm before permanent closure. Any statutory refund or other legal right remains unaffected.
We may suspend or terminate an account for material breach, fraud, abusive use, security risk, non-payment or legal necessity. We will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to put matters right where appropriate. If we permanently discontinue the paid service or close an account without customer fault, we will provide an appropriate remedy for unused purchased credits, which may include continued access or a refund.
9. Your content and intellectual property
You keep any rights you have in prompts, uploads and other content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, adapt and process that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service and comply with law.
Subject to these terms and applicable law, you may use your generated results for personal and commercial work. Because AI output may not qualify for intellectual-property protection and may resemble other content, we cannot promise that a result is unique, protectable or free from third-party claims. You are responsible for checking your intended use.
We own or license the Moodboard Lab software, branding, interface, catalogue compilation and service materials. No marketing or case-study use of your private content is permitted without your separate, revocable consent.
10. Acceptable use
You must not use Moodboard Lab to:
- break the law, infringe rights, deceive, harass or cause harm;
- upload content you do not have the right to use;
- generate or distribute unlawful, abusive or exploitative content;
- bypass credit, account, access or security controls;
- probe, disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service except where law permits; or
- introduce malware or use automated access without our written permission.
11. Availability and changes
We do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may maintain, secure, improve or replace features and third-party models. We will give reasonable notice of a material change that adversely affects a paid subscription where practical. Nothing in this section removes a remedy you have under consumer law.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses where you entered the contract wholly or mainly for personal purposes.
If you are acting in business, to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings. Our total aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal information. Uploaded content may be processed by cloud, authentication, payment and AI service providers as described there. Do not upload special-category, confidential or client personal data unless you have a lawful basis and are authorised to do so.
14. Complaints and disputes
Email jonathan@moodboard-lab.com with your account email, the relevant order or invoice reference and a description of the problem. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five working days and provide a substantive response within 14 days.
15. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident outside England and Wales, you keep any mandatory protections given to you by the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under that law. Business customers agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. We will identify the effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes affecting an active paid subscription. A change will not retrospectively remove rights that have already arisen.
