Tobermore Textured Flags

Plain textured paving flags in six sizes from 400 × 400 to 600 × 600 mm — the utility flag for footways and public realm rather than a feature paving. At 12.1 kgCO₂e/m² it is among the lowest-carbon surfaces Tobermore declare, roughly a quarter of their textured Braemar block, because a flag is a thin slab with no decorative surface processing.

Recorded Carbon Result

12.1kgCO₂e/m²

A1–A3 GWP-total per m² of paving (EPDIE-21-66). Delivery (A4) is declared separately and is not trivial for a heavy product shipped from Northern Ireland.

Indicator: GWP-total

Tobermore EPDIE-21-66

A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.

Textured Flags across six sizes and thicknesses. The declaration covers 6 products: 400x400x50mm; 400x400x65mm; 450x450x35mm; 450x450x50mm; 600x600x40mm; 600x600x50mm. Tobermore publish grouped declarations and surface the same PDF under several product names, so the figure belongs to this group rather than being a measurement of one size alone.

* EPD transport and installation scenario, not this project's. Not declared: use. Module D shows potential impacts or benefits from reuse, recovery or recycling after the product's assessed life. It is reported separately and never added to A-C. Do not compare bar lengths between materials. Each chart may use a different scale and declared unit.

* A4/A5 are EPD scenarios, not project-specific results. Module D is outside the A–C system boundary and is not added to A–C. Module nomenclature follows BS EN 15978 / EN 15804. Declared values are suitable as inputs to a whole life carbon assessment under the RICS Professional Standard (2nd edition); this panel is not an assessment.

A1–A3 12.1 + A4 6.02 + A5 2.18 · GWP-total, as declared

* Includes the EPD’s A4/A5 scenario assumptions, not project-specific transport or installation. This is the aggregation the proposed Part Z applies upfront limits to. The A1–A3 figure includes declared biogenic storage of 0.0111 kgCO₂e; Part Z aggregates upfront carbon excluding sequestered carbon, which is the assessor's adjustment to make.

Service Life — the B4 Replacement Input

50 years · EPD reference service life

The declaration states a useful service life of 50 years.

≈2 installations over a 60-year building study period.

B4 (replacement) follows the building, not the product: an assessor multiplies replacement cycles by project quantities. This record supplies the service life and does not compute B4.
