Low Carbon Single Skin Precast Panel

An architectural precast cladding panel cast with a deliberately low-carbon mix — white cement cut with supplementary cementitious materials to the limits BS 8500:2023 allows. On Techrete’s own declarations it comes in at 48.5 kgCO2e/m² against 54.8 for their standard grey-cement panel on the same 150 mm basis, and it carries a small declared carbonation credit in use. Precast is bought as a manufacturer’s engineered panel, not a poured mix, which is why the EPD is per m² of panel rather than per m³ of concrete.

Techrete

Recorded Carbon Result

48.5kgCO₂e/m²

A1–A3 GWP-total per m² of 150 mm architectural panel (377.6 kg). Essentially all fossil (48.4) — precast holds no meaningful biogenic store. Techrete’s own grey-cement panel declares 54.8 on the same basis; B1 carbonation gives back a further 0.55 in use.

Indicator: GWP-total

A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.

Covers Techrete Low Carbon Single Skin products: white cement with SCMs, fine and coarse aggregate, admixtures and pigments. A4 is not declared. Techrete’s other four panel families (grey, white, brick-faced, stone-faced, sandwich) carry their own declarations, HUB-4395–4399.

* A4/A5 are EPD scenarios, not project-specific results. Module D is outside the A–C system boundary and is not added to A–C. Module nomenclature follows BS EN 15978 / EN 15804. Declared values are suitable as inputs to a whole life carbon assessment under the RICS Professional Standard (2nd edition); this panel is not an assessment.
