Read This Honestly

  • Melting and pouring is high-temperature work on metal that already carries its smelting energy. Bespoke does not mean low-impact.
  • Fire doors and escape routes need certified ironmongery. A bespoke casting cannot be substituted onto a tested door set.
  • Colour and patina vary between pours. Order a full set at once if consistency matters.

The pattern is the specified article. Once it exists the foundry can pour again, which is what separates a bespoke casting from a one-off — and what makes the pattern worth keeping.

  • Agree the finish explicitly — unlacquered will patina, lacquered will wear through unevenly, and the difference is not reversible after installation.
  • Keep the pattern with the building record; it is what allows a matching replacement in twenty years.
