RainScreen Duo Slab
A non-combustible dual-density stone wool insulation slab developed for ventilated cladding, sealed façade systems and masonry outer leaves. Its firmer patterned outer layer supports fixings while the resilient underside accommodates minor substrate unevenness.

Carbon and evidence
Product Evidence
Evidence currently held for the ROCKWOOL product record.
Recorded Carbon Result
A1–A3 GWP per m² per R=1 m²K/W. Scale by installed R-value — e.g. ≈3.8 kgCO2e/m² at 100mm (R≈2.7).
Indicator: GWP-total
A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.
Historical result from an expired EPD. It is retained for transparency, but it must not be used for product comparison until a valid replacement is recorded.

The declaration read here expired in December 2020 and is written to EN 15804+A1. It covers generic ROCKWOOL stone wool at the reference thickness rather than RainScreen Duo Slab specifically, and the copy read is the one hosted by the Irish Green Building Council. The declared 1.4 kgCO2e is the reference-product value; a RainScreen Duo Slab figure requires 1.4 × the published scaling factor (2.1 at ≤80 mm, 1.8 at 90–110 mm, 1.7 at >125 mm) × the board R-value. No current ROCKWOOL declaration covering this product was located.

Design & Specification Notes
Qualitative notes for early design discussion. Not product-specific EPD evidence, and not a basis for numerical comparison.
A non-combustible dual-density stone wool insulation slab developed for ventilated cladding, sealed façade systems and masonry outer leaves.
Typical Uses
- •Thermal envelope
- •Roof/wall cavities
- •Airtightness layers
Key Performance
Good thermal resistance with reduced heat loss.
Specification Actions
- •Compare embodied carbon of insulation options (natural vs synthetic).
- •Request blowing agent GWP values for foam insulation.
- •Confirm the current EPD covers the selected product, finish and manufacturing route.
Indicative Health & Indoor Air
- •temporary fibre and dust irritation during cutting and installation
The current datasheet states no hazardous classification under EU REACH or UK REACH. Use the manufacturer safe-use sheet and appropriate PPE during cutting and installation.
