GCS Interior
A lime silicate for interior work on historic and lime-plastered walls, where the silicate binder chemically bonds into a mineral substrate instead of forming a film over it. The reason it appears on heritage specifications is that behaviour, not its carbon: it is the most vapour-open of the range and it will not lift off an old wall the way a film-forming paint can.

Carbon and evidence
Product Evidence
Evidence currently held for the Graphenstone product record.
Recorded Carbon Result
A1–A3 GWP-total per m² at two coats, per this product group’s results table. This product group is declared with B1 = 0: it does not take up CO₂ in use. Counting every declared module the whole-life total is +0.234 kgCO2e/m².
Indicator: GWP-total
A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.

Group declaration covering GCS Interior. Declared on its own. Despite being a lime silicate, it is declared with B1 = 0 and does not appear on the EPD’s list of CO₂-fixing references. The EPD declares seventeen Graphenstone references across several result groups; only this group’s table has been used here. Primary data is from the Seville factory, 2019.

Service Life — the B4 Replacement Input
10 years · EPD reference service life
The EPD declares a 10-year reference service life with no maintenance, repair or replacement in that period. Repainting cycles dominate the whole-life carbon of any paint — three repaints over 30 years costs three times A1–A3, and a carbonation credit does not accrue on a surface that has been painted over.

Cradle to Cradle
The EPD records C2C Gold "granted in 2016", certificate 2788. C2C certification is time-limited, so a 2016 grant is not evidence of a current certificate — treat as unverified until the current one is seen.
ISO 14001
