Read This Honestly

  • Forging is additional energy applied to an already-smelted, already-rolled product. Nothing about hand-working reduces the carbon in the steel.
  • The steel stock has an EPD; the finished piece does not. Ask about the stock.
  • Meeting BS 6180 for a balustrade is the specifier’s responsibility, not the smith’s — agree the loading case before the design is drawn.
