Desso

Recorded Carbon Result

4.46kgCO₂e/m²

A1–A3 GWP-total per m² of DESSO Desert EcoBase, per S-P-09339. NOT the same as the "Total Carbon Footprint (recycling) 0.81 kg CO2/m²" Tarkett advertise on collection pages — that is a whole-life figure net of the −4.69 module D credit. Both are true; only this one is embodied carbon.

Indicator: GWP-total

A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.

Declared for the DESSO Desert EcoBase sub-collection specifically, not the whole AirMaster family. Note the unit: the declaration’s RSL is 1 year while Tarkett recommend a 10-year service life — B-module figures need multiplying, though A1-A3 is unaffected. Module D is −4.69. Made at Dendermonde (BE) and Waalwijk (NL); 63.1% recycled and bio-based content assured by Lloyd’s. The EPD itself states most product is still in its first cycle, so recycled content "is still very minimal and not included in the calculations".

adds carbon stores or removes EPD scenario* reuse/recycling potential (D)
* EPD transport and installation scenario, not this project's. Not declared: site, use, end of life. Module D shows potential impacts or benefits from reuse, recovery or recycling after the product's assessed life. It is reported separately and never added to A-C. Do not compare bar lengths between materials. Each chart may use a different scale and declared unit.

* A4/A5 are EPD scenarios, not project-specific results. Module D is outside the A–C system boundary and is not added to A–C. Module nomenclature follows BS EN 15978 / EN 15804. Declared values are suitable as inputs to a whole life carbon assessment under the RICS Professional Standard (2nd edition); this panel is not an assessment.

Service Life — the B4 Replacement Input

10 years · manufacturer declared

≈6 installations over a 60-year building study period.

B4 (replacement) follows the building, not the product: an assessor multiplies replacement cycles by project quantities. This record supplies the service life and does not compute B4.

3 claims and 2 certifications are held in the staging record but not presented as product evidence because an exact public source has not yet been mapped.

Comparison Status

This result should be displayed for information only and not ranked against another product.

  • • The PCR and version are missing.
  • • The carbon result is not linked to an evidence source.
  • • The EPD is not linked to an evidence source.

Evidence Gaps

  • 3 sustainability claims are withheld because exact public evidence is not mapped.
  • 2 certifications are withheld because exact public evidence is not mapped.
