CUPA 12
Dark grey Spanish roofing slate with a smooth matt face, from CUPA’s La Campa quarry in Lugo — the most widely specified natural slate in Britain and the default where a slate roof is drawn. At 5 mm and 36.9 kg/m² it is the lighter of the two CUPA slates here. Its declaration covers extraction and manufacture on one site, and gives a 75-year study period, which is conservative for a material that routinely outlives the building’s other layers.

Product Evidence
Evidence currently held for the CUPA PIZARRAS product record.
Recorded Carbon Result
A1–A3 GWP-total per m² of finished roof at 36.9 kg/m², over the declaration’s 75-year study period. Delivery is declared separately at 1.98 kgCO2e/m² (608 km by road and 1,198 km by sea) — for a material this heavy the quarry’s location matters as much as its process.
Indicator: GWP-total
CUPA 12 natural slate (BREG EN EPD 000232 (Issue 02))A1–A3 covers raw-material supply, transport to manufacture and manufacturing. It is product-stage information, not a whole-life result.
